Online Website Startup Business Checklist

An endless number of websites are being created virtually (ha no pun intended) everyday, which is understandable given the number of new Home Based Businesses that are launching every day. But there are certain things every startup home business will need to have in order to get off the ground in the right direction.
So we have put together a little list of some of the factors every online startup company should consider:
- Do some competitive research: is the industry you are wanting to venture into heavily saturated? If so, try to be unique
- Come up with a catchy Domain Name that can be remembered (having your main keywords in the domain is a PLUS!)
- Definitely pick a Reliable Website Hosting Company such as Hostgator.com or Yahoo! Small Business
- Choose a reputable Web Design Firm – there are many out there to choose from: either locally or around the world. We recommend BMD Media Web Design
- IMPORTANT: Remember to set aside a marketing budget for when after your website is completed. Too many websites “sit and wait” for traffic to come to it. That’s not going to happen without a little “push”. After all, this is a business right? There are costs involved as any other business.
- Search Engine Optimization is a must (that is if want people to find your website online! In some cases, websites are so unique, it doesn’t matter).
- Customer Service is HUGE. It only takes a few “rotten apples to spoil a bunch”. Bad reputations can spread like a wildfire!
- MOST IMPORTANT: Don’t get discouraged!! If your website or online business doesn’t take off, that’s OK! It takes time. It is all trial and error. Play around with your business model until you find the perfect formula for success!
